iPhone Battery Replacement in Seattle

If your iPhone dies before lunch, shuts off at 30%, or can’t make it through the day, the battery is probably worn out. A new battery usually brings back all-day life, and it costs much less than a new phone.

Seattle’s mild weather is easy on batteries, so in Seattle a battery usually wears out from age and charging cycles rather than heat. Apple designs iPhone batteries to keep about 80% of their capacity after 500 full charge cycles (1,000 on iPhone 15 and later), so after two or three years of daily use a replacement is common.

To check your battery, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health (on some newer models it’s Battery Health & Charging). If Maximum Capacity is below 80%, or your iPhone shows a “Service” message, it’s a good time to replace the battery.

You have two main choices. You can go to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, or you can use an independent local repair shop. This page lists 22 repair shops in Seattle, including Seattle iPhone Repair, Jet City Device Repair, LML Repair, Gadget Rehab, Mobile Kangaroo (an Apple Authorized Service Provider) and uBreakiFix. Apple University Village is also listed, and some services, like iPhone Repair Seattle Mobile Service, will come to you.

How to choose a shop

  • Ask whether the battery is genuine Apple or aftermarket, and what the price is for your exact model.
  • Ask how long the warranty on the battery and the work lasts.
  • Check how long it takes. Many shops can swap a battery while you wait.
  • Look at recent Google reviews that mention battery jobs.
  • Back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer first.
  • After the swap, a non-Apple battery may show an “Unknown Part” message in Settings. That’s normal, but you should know about it before you choose.
  • Ask if they’ll recycle your old battery safely.

Seattle iPhone battery FAQs

How much does an iPhone battery replacement cost in Seattle?

At Apple, out-of-warranty battery service is $69 to $129 before tax, depending on your model. It's free with AppleCare+ if your battery is below 80% capacity. Independent Seattle shops set their own prices, which are often less than Apple's, so call for a quote for your model.

How long does it take?

Many shops do a battery swap while you wait, often the same day. At Apple, timing depends on appointments and parts. Mail-in service takes longer.

Why does my iPhone battery drain fast if Seattle isn’t hot?

Batteries wear out with age and charge cycles, not just heat. If Maximum Capacity is below 80% or the phone shuts down unexpectedly, the battery is likely worn out.

When should I replace my iPhone battery?

When Maximum Capacity in Settings drops below 80%, your phone shows a "Service" message, or it shuts down without warning or drains very fast.

Will a local shop void my warranty?

Damage caused by an independent repair isn't covered by Apple. If your iPhone is still under warranty or has AppleCare+, check with Apple first, since battery service may be free.
