I took it to Seattle Device Repair, hoping they could help. I’m glad i did. The tech was friendly and made me feel at ease. He quickly assessed the situation and explained what might have caused the condensation buildup, mentioning that it could have been due to a sudden change in temperature or humidity. The technician then walked me through the solution he planned to try. He explained that he would gently heat the device and let it cool repeatedly to try and remove the condensation without causing further damage. I appreciated how thorough he was in explaining the process and how confident he seemed in his approach. He worked on my phone for about an hour, carefully trying his method, but unfortunately, the condensation remained. After giving it his best effort, the tech was honest and transparent, letting me know that while he could open the device to try and fix the issue, it might risk causing more damage. I really appreciated his integrity in not wanting to do anything that could make things worse. To my surprise, he refused payment for his time and effort, even though he had worked on my phone for an extended period. Throughout the entire experience, he was polite, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Since then, I left the phone, powered off, next to a heat vent at home (in an attempt to replicate the tecnique), and the condensation has gone away after several days of treatment.
