I bought my iPhone 4S at future shop, and they have a warranty that costs 15 dollars a month that will replace your phone if something is wrong with it. The highlight of this warranty is that when the new iPhone comes out, they will replace a damaged iPhone 4S with the new one. So, when that time comes, if my phone hasn’t malfunctioned yet, I want to be able to make it malfunction so I can get the new phone.

I was thinking something along the lines of a power surge or button breakage. My 3Gs that I got in November of 2012 had the vibrate button malfunction so that it got stuck or wouldn’t turn vibrate on or off (this is why I got the iPhone 4S). So I was wondering if there was some way to cause that to happen.

Another way I was thinking of doing it is causing a speaker to blow or something. I have already used this warranty once, since the first phone I got was a lemon and had multiple things wrong with it, the foremost being the inability to make calls. The speaker and microphone was shot. I was considering just keeping that phone until the new one came out, but it was to much of a hassle in my everyday life. So is there some way to cause my speaker or microphone to malfunction (without using water. It’s not covered in the warranty if it’s drowned).

And, before you say it, I realize some people might consider this “unethical”, but I really just don’t care. The guy who sold me the phone actually said “when the new one comes out, just come in with a shot battery or something and you get the new one”. Apple products are great, but they are WAYYYY overpriced, and I am taking every step I can to keep my costs down while still getting the cool new gadgets.
